Goodwill Keystone Area held a ribbon-cutting ceremony today to celebrate the remodel of its Warminster store and donation center located in the Warminster Shopping Center at 1487 Street Road.
The facility has undergone several enhancements to provide an inviting atmosphere for shoppers and donors. The in-store experience includes a new front entrance with vestibule, additional 1,765 square feet of retail space, refreshed branding, new fixtures and displays, and improved traffic flow. The remodel also creates an improved experience for Goodwill’s donors, including a new canopy to protect people from the elements when dropping off donations.
For employees, the backroom production area has been expanded to allow staff to process a higher volume of donations while ensuring safety. Additionally, a new office and employee breakroom was constructed.
“Goodwill has operated at this location since 2006, which is a testament to the incredible support from the Warminster-area community,” Goodwill Keystone Area President and CEO Ed Lada said. “We’re excited to offer an improved donor and shopping experience, and look forward to increased production resulting from changes to our back-of-shop operations."
The Warminster store attracts more than 1,500 weekly shoppers, with an average of 1,300 donors every week. It has 16 full-time staff and six part-time employees.
Proceeds from the sale of donated items at Goodwill’s retail stores support the organization’s mission to advance sustainability so that individuals and families can thrive and flourish. Goodwill is fulfilling its mission in Bucks County through:
• Employment Services – Helping people with barriers to employment locate, obtain and maintain work; and
• Benefits Counseling – Guiding individuals in understanding how earnings may impact their cash and health insurance benefits, and what work incentives they may be able to use.
Those attending today’s ribbon-cutting ceremony included state Rep. Brian Munroe, Bucks County Commissioner Robert Harvie, Constituent Advocate Kevin Bongarzone from U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick’s Office, representatives from Ames Construction, and Goodwill leaders and store staff.
